Prior board experience is a plus, but not required. Service on the ETE board of directors is on a volunteer basis.

 

BOARD ROLE: COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Bermuda End-to-End (ETE”) is a registered charity (#544) which has been supporting Bermudas community by donating over $6.5 million to the Island’s charities for over thirty-six (36) years.  We have an opportunity for a qualified individual who is committed to the missions of E2Es charitable beneficiaries to join our board in the role of Compliance Officer.

The Compliance Officer is responsible for: 

  • Monitoring the compliance of all board functions with applicable legislations and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Ensuring the organisation is current and compliant with all regulatory requirements and filings
  • Proactively advising the board of any areas of concern within the organisation or its activities, such as conflicts of interest, etc.
  • Keeping the board up-to-date on any regulatory changes that could impact the organisation
  • Understanding risks to the organisation, both real or perceived, and providing insight on means to mitigate them
  • Maintaining a risk register highlighting risks to the organisation and how they are mitigated 
  • Assuring proper documentation of discussions and decisions, including the confirmation that meeting minutes have been properly captured
  • Preserving the propriety of board through oversight and appropriate guidance  

 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Versed in applicable legislation governing charitable organisations in Bermuda, including the upcoming PIPA legislation
  • Abreast of pending legislative changes that relate to Bermuda charities
  • Cognisant of the risks to charitable organisations and the means to minimise or mitigate them
  • Respectful, credible and passionate about improving the lives of ETE’s beneficiaries

 

BOARD ROLE: CHARITY MEMBER

Bermuda End-to-End (ETE”) is a registered charity (#544) which has been supporting Bermudas community by donating over $6.5 million to Bermudas charities for over thirty-six (36) years.  We have an opportunity for a qualified individual who is committed to the missions of ETEs charitable beneficiaries to join our board in the role of Charity Member.

The Charity Member is responsible for: 

  • Keeping the Board informed of applicable issues governing charitable organisations in Bermuda
  • Managing the grant application process including RFP document release, timelines for the process, scheduling of the review, and guiding the flow of the RFP application receipt and review
  • Communication between ETE and the Bermuda Charities in regards to funding decisions 
  • Ensuring that successful applicants are in compliance with the terms of the completed contract
  • On-going communication with the successful applicants
  • Reviewing annual charity reports to ensure that the use of the funds match the original application
  • Ensuring the organisation is current with relevant topics relating to charity governance
  • Acting as the liaison between ETE and the Charitable community.
  • Advocate for Bermuda Charities and their missions.
